Oh, f…

In iTunes/iPod on September 30, 2007 at 11:10 am

Talk about a turn of events. My iPod has a dead pixel. Well, that’s fun. I’m going to return it to Best Buy and just use the one Apple’s going to send me.

Screw The Apple Store

In Apple, iTunes/iPod on September 29, 2007 at 8:40 am

I called my local Best Buy. They were nice enough to put one of their last two 16 GB touches on hold for me. I then called 1 800 MY APPLE. They were nice enough to send by e-mail something to put on the iPod touch package so I can ship it back to them, free of charge, for a full refund of the price + taxes. I got a new week-38-Macy-Grey-box touch last night and I love it.

And yes, it’s still “Prepared for Shipment.”

1/2 a Doomsday

11 hours, 06 minutes and 50 seconds to go.

Well, there goes half of the 28th. Status check?

Status : It’s 1-800-GoFedEx since you apparently forgot the number.

14 hours, 30 minutes and 53 seconds to go.

Guess what. It’s still not shipped. Fortunately, there’s other stuff I can do today to get my mind off the blatent betrayal orchestrated by Apple. I got a bit of work. I could should update EON. I also got and finished the main game of Sonic Rush Adventures. There is still a lot more to do but I think I’ll wait a bit. My left thumb is killing me.

You Bastards.

I bought mine the weekend after it came out. I’ve bought two Macs and two iPods to date. And I stroll into my local Best Buy and I see a bit more than 10 16 GB touches staring me in the face. Apple, you bastards! It’s the last time I ever buy an iPod direct from you.

Counting Down

In iTunes/iPod on September 27, 2007 at 2:50 pm

1 day, 8 hours, 9 minutes, 40 seconds until Hell breaks loose.

My touch has still yet to ship. Well, I intend to make sure Apple keeps it’s promise. I’m now counting down to the 29th. That’s when I intend to make Apple pay up for lying to me. A nice rebate wouldn’t hurt. So, it’s time to get off your ass and start shipping. And do it fast; the clock is ticking.

Ship Dammit!

In iTunes/iPod on September 26, 2007 at 2:38 pm

2 days until the 28th.
Status : Just God damn give it to FedEx already. It’s “Prepared” isn’t it?

This is getting fishy. I’m not sure if Apple decided to lock pre-orders before the 28th (You can’t cancel an order after it’s “Prepared for Shipment”.) or if they truly have a problem. Either way, they shouldn’t keep quiet. I’m going to try to call them again, this time in French. Maybe they didn’t get the memo about telling everyone, no matter what that the touch “ships on the 28th.”

Time Goes By, So Slowly

In iTunes/iPod on September 25, 2007 at 4:24 pm

3 days until the 28th.
Status : Prepared for Shipment

… Since early Monday.

How, oh how can It take so damn long to FedEx a damn box? Give it to them and they do the rest! This is worse that waiting for “Prepared for Shipment” since, technically, it should be any moment now…

EyeTV just got updated and now has a couple new features including this amazing piece of ingenuity : Wi-Fi play. You can watch TV content you previously recorded and encoded for Wi-Fi on you iPhone or touch over your local network without having the video on the device it self. It streams it. An e-mail to eyeTV’s support shows that it’s possible to access the site over the Web but there are some hoops to jump through. I’ll see if someone can tell me how to set it up.

Breaking News – 6:56 AM

This just in : According to the Delivery Status Widget, the iPod touch has switched statuses.

Status : Prepared For Shipment (Woo Hoo!)

The ship date is still set for the 28th but the touch should ship much sooner.

Stay tuned for further developments while I grin happily for a while.
