Stupidity is The Mother of Failure

So let me get this. I might soon start paying a tax on my legal songs download… to offset the effects of illegal song downloads. This isn’t “preaching to the choir”; it’s more like “kicking the choir in the nuts.” This nice derailment of the logic train was caused by the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) who asked for such a tax to the Copyright Board of Canada, who apparently likes the idea. It truly is a miracle I still pay for music with such a thick bunch of morons controlling the whole process.

Fuck you, SOCAN and the Copyright Board. Fuck. you.

Wait… the tax is retroactive back to January 1st, 1996?!

What the Hell is SOCAN smoking? They must intentionally want to kill online distribution. It’s the only logical explanation. I hope the Copyright Board’s collective brain comes back from the death and realizes what a horrendously bad idea this it. Until then, p2p anyone?
